Parkway Inn of Birmingham

Burn holes everywhere, roaches all over, and a stranger asked me for my room number. My boyfriend had booked it while he was out of the country so I could be there when he flew in, but I was scared for the whole ten minutes I stayed. The place gave me bad vibes immediately, and I'm not someone who gets scared easily. I was relieved to get my things back in the car and drive off. My nose was still burning from the cigarette smoke an hour later. Just no.

We stayed because we had a funeral the next morning, and the price was decent. The room, though, was full of roaches. Around 11 pm, while I was talking with family, a man came over to ask why we were all there, then said this wasn't the place for us. I laughed and told him we were only there to sleep. There were lots of people using drugs and a lot of drugs being sold. I really don't recommend this place unless that's what you're looking for.

The elevator doesn't reach the lobby, and the lobby was closed. There was broken glass they hadn't swept up. At least two rooms had roaches, and burn holes were all over everything. The clerk said they didn't know how to process a refund.

The room photos are nowhere close to what I was given. Every piece of furniture had burn marks from crack pipes, the mattress was poor, the pillows were paper thin, and the bathrooms were dated. There was a lot of 'activity' around the property, and anyone driving a full-size truck or vehicle will have to park away from the building. For extended stays, there is no daily room service or fresh towels. The woman in management was incredibly rude. Not recommended.
