El Rancho Motel

Mammoth Housing put us here a couple of years ago. We had things stolen from our car, including birthday letters with money in them, and the place gave us bedbugs. The management was dishonest. Staying here or at THE TREES is a risk. Do not stay here.

The remodeled rooms have a Martha Stewart motif, and the exterior is bright and multicolored. With the new ownership, I see real potential for positive changes. The accommodations are clean and comfortable for a budget level, which is a good base for more improvements. There have been some organizational challenges, but I understand they may come with the transition. The staff have made a real effort to accommodate guests and help them feel comfortable. I appreciate that and am patient as the improvements take shape.

We stayed just one night before a nearby sunrise hike and were generally happy. Everything worked and was clean enough. My only suggestion is to use a proper shower curtain material. Ours felt like a thin tablecloth and was the dirtiest thing in the room.

A good place to rest for the price. The staff were very accommodating, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. It was relatively clean, too. I’d add drapes, since the blinds didn’t block the outside lights well. I’d stay here again.
