Our room was tidy and had no strange smell, and the bathroom was clean. There was plenty of parking. The front desk person handled our check-in quickly, though a please and thank you would have been appreciated. She asked for my credit card and driver's license while staring at her screen without making eye contact. We like Wyndham and have more stays booked at different locations this year, but customer service varies between their hotels. It also felt odd to walk into the lobby and see room towels on a cart, with folded ones placed on top of a lobby chair. That seemed inappropriate. That's all :)

The hotel was close to the event we were attending, which is why we stayed there. Check-in was a bit of a mess: three people were present, but only one seemed to know what they were doing. We were running late and didn't notice much about the hotel or room at first, except that all our pillows lacked cases. I guess that's a good thing, and we asked for cases and got them within a few minutes. Once we had time to look around, it seemed they didn't vacuum often. They said the hotel had recently been renovated, though there was no date given, and it didn't look recent. I found a sock and glow stick under the AC unit and didn't dare check under the bed. Breakfast was standard, but the area was tiny and hard to move around in without getting in each other's way. The AC didn't seem to be working there either. I wouldn't stay again.

When we got there, check-in took over 20 minutes, and the lobby felt muggy, hot, humid, and unclean. The young women at the desk were clearly being trained, which was fine until their trainer left to look into another guest's complaint about mold in his room. The two trainees were left to manage as best they could. My wife and I woke up with some kind of bites on our legs and arms, and there was nobody at the front desk. We brushed our teeth in a clogged sink, then handed our key cards to the cleaning person because she was the only staff member in sight. My wife will contact corporate about the bites and request a refund. This wasn't worth almost $200, or even $10. The plastic flowers were dusty, the sheets felt like 100 thread count and had lint balls, and the towels were ones I wouldn't put on my body. We didn't even shower. We just wanted to get out.

The staff here were great and were happy to help us during our vacation after another Wyndham Properties hotel left us without a room. (See my review for the Super 8, and DO NOT STAY THERE unless you like sleeping with bugs, walking through smoky hallways, and not being able to shower.) I'm very pleased we stayed at the Days Inn of Niantic. From the entrance to the room and shower, everything was clean, fresh, and inviting. We had a king bed on the first floor, plus coffee and tea in the room, a mini fridge, and a microwave. It was affordable, and I'd definitely come back or book at another hotel in this Wyndham Properties chain.

The hotel wasn't as advertised. There was no restaurant or pool, supposedly because of the pandemic. It's 2023, and everything else is open again, but not here. I waited more than 45 minutes at the front desk for someone to show up, hoping the staff hadn't died behind the counter. I had enough time to find another hotel and get my third-party reservation cancelled at no charge. When the front desk person finally appeared, he said he was sorry because he had to clean rooms and there were only two staff members on site. That's not my problem, but he did let me cancel for free, so I thanked him. Skip it.
