Hotel Manisses

The apps were great, but dinner was uninspiring. We spent $600 on dinner for six, with multiple rounds of cocktails, and being charged extra for olives was infuriating. I can't seem to reply to the response, so I'll edit this. It was inaccurate. My dog lay under my chair the whole time and absolutely did not have an accident in the restaurant. The other five people at dinner are happy to back that up and leave the same one-star review. The olive charge was on the bar cocktail menu, but that was only pointed out to us afterward. I've had the same drink at about a dozen other places in New England over the last ten days and was never charged for blue-cheese-stuffed olives. If we spilled his water bowl on the way out, which is possible, I apologize for that. It doesn't change my review. We called ahead and asked for the patio and were told that was fine, but then outdoor seating was refused when we checked in.

I have stayed all over BI, and this was easily my favorite. The hotel and grounds are lovely, the rooms are quiet, and the beds are so comfortable. Everyone on staff was welcoming and kind. It's just a two-minute walk into town and about a mile by bike to the light house. This place is a gem! ❤️

The place is elegant and the waitresses are amazing, but the hosts are rude and incapable. When people are waiting, let them know whether you're seating them after you hand them a menu and lead them in. Don't embarrass or treat guests rudely, or soon you'll have none. Smile and be courteous like others on the island. You're not above it.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but the food was incredible. We loved the atmosphere and the friendly, engaging service, and the whole place had a peaceful, positive, spiritual feel that we really enjoyed. Thanks to Harry for recommending this fine establishment, being a friend while we were there, and joining us for breakfast too. Steven and Sunshine.
