Comfort Suites Bloomington I-55 And I-74

The elevator felt sketchy, the staff were unkind, and the place wasn't clean. For the price, it wasn't worth it. The woman checking us in was unpleasant. The bed was okay, but there were huge flies, ladybugs, and spiders all over the window, with piles of dead bugs and plenty still alive. We even woke to two in our bed. The couch had a big stain on its arm, and the fridge wasn't plugged in, so we had to pull it out and connect it ourselves. Breakfast tasted just okay. We sat down 35 minutes before it closed, but there wasn't enough food for everyone and the attendant refused to refill anything. At three minutes past closing she told us to leave so she could shut down. Weekend breakfast starting at 9:00 am also isn't late enough.

Our rooms were clean and we had a nice visit. Leena made a very nice breakfast and was so courteous that she made us feel at home. The rest of the staff were welcoming, too. Peggy, who arranged our three rooms, was impatient and disrespectful in how she spoke and acted while I was checking in, despite the sign behind her saying 'Be Kind.' It left us with a bad taste. As former business owners, we know how important it is to understand how customers are treated, so I wanted to make you aware.

Room 205 was nice and clean, and breakfast was very good. One lamp wouldn't turn on or off with its switch, so I had to plug it in and pull the plug out. The tub floor needs safety strips, and a grab bar in the middle of the shower would help with safety. Leena was courteous, respectful, friendly, efficient, and helpful. She's a great employee. Peggy at the front desk was very rude and not welcoming. When I told the manager about Peggy, she nodded with a smirk but didn't say a word, not even that she was sorry I had that experience.

I stayed by myself for one night to break up a long drive, and I liked the clean, comfortable room and its layout. The hotel is right off the highway and close to town. You can hear highway traffic very clearly from rooms facing it. It didn't bother me, but could be a problem for someone else. I'd happily return with my wife if we're in the area.
