Bluff Dwellings Resort

The setting is beautiful, and we found the staff kind and happy to help. From here you can take day trips to several parks and scenic spots. We stayed two nights as a family of four, and the kids especially enjoyed having the park on site. There’s also a pool and hot tub, though the pool wasn’t heated in the off season, so we couldn’t use it. We could hear people in the room above us, as other guests have mentioned. It didn’t bother my husband or the kids, but I’m a light sleeper. This feels like a really special, one of a kind resort.

We’ve visited Monument Valley, Hovenweep, and Canyon of the Ancients on our most recent trip, and Bluff Dwellings was a lovely place to come back to. This was our third stay, and we’ve always enjoyed it. Everything is immaculate. Cedar Shack is a fun little restaurant, and Cowboy Cafe, just a few hundred yards away, is a terrific coffee shop.

Bluff Dwellings Resort was a welcome place to recharge after some busier stops and National Parks, and we enjoyed the little town of Bluff too. We spent two nights there in October 2025 during a three week road trip, and were glad we made the stop. The room was clean and comfortable, and the patios and shared fire pits were lovely touches. The people at reception and in the small restaurant were very good. Thank you.

The main downside was the noise. We could hear furniture moving, TVs, and people talking from the surrounding rooms, and the floors don’t seem soundproofed. The heater fan was loud even on low. In both rooms, the new doors were coming off their hinges and wouldn’t close, so a good night’s sleep may be hard to come by. The cafe food was good, though the atmosphere wasn’t especially nice. Still, the hotel itself is beautiful, with appealing architecture and a new-build feel. We tried both a double queen room and a loft room, and both were comfortable and spacious. We also loved the large hot tub, fire pits, view, and location. Staff were friendly every time we interacted with them.
