Motel 6 Blythe, CA

A basic room, but the hot water worked, the bed was comfortable, and everything else worked fine. The front desk staff were friendly, and it was quiet all night. Wi-Fi worked well too. Best Motel 6 pillows I've had yet. Stayed 3/7 for one night.

I have never been afraid someone might break into my motel room in the middle of the night before this stay. It was horrifying, and I can't imagine staying at another Motel 6 after it. We were in room 150. The deadbolt screws were coming loose, and the windows had neither locks nor screens, so anyone could have opened them. People were hanging around the parking lot at 4 am. The sheets had urine stains and paw prints. The heating and cooling fan was broken, and the room got close to 90 degrees. When we told the front desk, they just shrugged. The shower was incredibly dirty, though the toilet was clean. The floors were so filthy that my new white socks were nearly dark brown after walking from the bed to the bathroom. The fridge was so frosted over it couldn't be used.

Maggie checked me in and was an absolute jewel. Management is lucky to have her, and Motel 6 should hold every location to the standard set here. From contacting the hotel through changing my room and checking in, the experience was amazing. I'm not a Motel 6 fan, and I rarely stay at one because of too many gross experiences in the past. Of course, this is a Hotel 6, so don't expect luxury, but my room was clean, comfortable, and safe. Good job!

I don't usually leave reviews, especially for Motel 6, since I don't expect much, but this place was really gross. The toilet felt sticky, the towels were stained and dirty, and the shower floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. There was also a man yelling by the pool all night. The room was already so hot when I got in at 6 pm that I turned off the heater, but the air didn't work. The front desk said they turn off all the air for winter. I was alone and felt exposed with the windows open because there were no screens, and I had to open the front door too. Mosquitoes came in. I found a window latch that let me crack it open, then asked for a fan, but they said they had none left and suggested propping the door open with the latch. That felt weird, and I woke up about three times.
