Budget Inn Boise

We stayed a couple of nights and walked downtown, stopping at a few places along the way. They had smoking rooms, which made for a fun staycation at the time. It's a budget hotel near downtown, and the price and service together earned a high score from me. It's not a luxury place, and they don't pretend it is. There's also some weird club down the street, though we didn't go in.

The room wasn't clean, there were bugs, and the heater didn't work, so it was cold. Management also didn't respond. Those problems, along with the refusal to make a disability accommodation, made the stay unacceptable. I booked because I needed a safe, clean, accessible room. I receive SSDI and had specifically asked for a first-floor room, but the front desk refused and said it was “a hassle.” That's completely inappropriate and not ADA-compliant. I'm formally requesting a full refund because the hotel failed to provide the basic services I paid for and refused a reasonable accommodation. I'll update this review if management resolves it appropriately.

The rooms are disgusting, with crap stains on the sheets and writing on the walls and mirrors. Orange water comes out of every faucet. I don't understand how this place isn't out of business or condemned for being so unhealthy and terrible. It should be illegal. They demand a $50 deposit and seem to find every excuse to keep it. At checkout, staff make you stand there while they inspect your room before you can leave. The owner runs the place like a prison and yells at people constantly. The staff are untrained and can't manage check-ins. The cards usually don't work either.

This place is a rip-off. The hotel looks nasty and is falling apart. They made me pay a $50 cash deposit at check-in, then today I left my room exactly at 11am and was told I'd forfeited it for not being out by 11. They kept saying that was in the rules I'd read, though those rules said nothing about a cash deposit. The police told me this is a common situation at this particular hotel. Scam and rip-off.
