The cozy interior really captures that small-town Sisters feeling, and the welcome was just as warm. We had lunch at Ski Inn Taphouse, splitting an appetizer and “The Dusty” Burger. Both were delicious, and the burger was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We didn’t stay at the hotel, but the restaurant alone makes a visit worthwhile. It felt like a big hug, whether you live nearby or are passing through. 10/10, highly recommend.

The sandwiches were generous, the tots were plentiful, and every bite was good. I had the BLTA with sweet potato tots, while we also got a smoky chicken pesto sandwich with tots. The chicken had just the right amount of smoke, and the pesto sandwich on ciabatta had a main ingredient in every bite. Usually chicken sandwiches leave a lot of bread without chicken, but not this one. We came to the Taphouae on a friend's recommendation. The menus were on QR codes, but the service was incredible, prompt, efficient, and friendly. I think two servers split the space, and both knew exactly what they were doing. One request: please consider putting kombucha or root beer on draft for adult customers who don't drink alcohol.

That Harvest Salad is going to stay on my mind until I come back. I’ll probably try to recreate it, but I’m sure my version will be tasty and still somehow fall short. My partner had the Brisket Sando. We sat outside by the gas fire and could watch a football game thanks to the exterior speakers. The service was friendly and accommodating, too. I haven’t stayed here yet, but I’d really like to. This is about the restaurant/Taphouse, and I’m looking forward to another visit.

I ate here with friends at 2 pm on Sunday. It wasn’t busy, and the service was good, but the meal was bad enough that I feel I should warn people. The Fish and Chips had a chemical taste and were very rubbery. McDonalds does them much better. The house-made tartare sauce was also unusable for me, both the taste and congealed look put me off. The prices felt too high for drinks served in plastic cups, especially with a straw I hadn’t asked for. We also paid $1 for two tablespoons of ketchup in a disposable plastic dish, which is bad for the environment. A sign at the entrance said credit cards had a 2.9% charge, another extra. Having to use a QR code for the menu was a drag. I can use one, but sometimes you just want to put your phone down. I asked for a paper menu and was told there weren’t any. Groan. There are lots of better choices in Sisters, Redmond and Bend.

We were staying down the road and stopped in for a beer and food. The brisket nachos were so good, and now, just 30 minutes later, I’m craving them again. If you don’t handle spice well, get an extra side of sour cream. Good service and an amazing atmosphere, too.
