The rooms and bathroom were much bigger than we expected, and the place felt safe, quiet, and like good value, with a great view from the windows. It has what you need for such an isolated spot, but bring food: the nearest restaurant is 25 minutes away, and there’s nothing else for miles. It’s on the way from Moab into the park, so it could work well if you’re visiting Capital Reef. We booked one night through Airbnb. It’s a local hotel run by a very friendly couple. The office closes at 9pm, so get there before then. Breakfast is included, with cereal, waffles, juice or milk, and some granola bars. The shower had hot water and the essentials were supplied. The pool and hot tub were closed during our visit. Our one real gripe was the blankets, which felt really damp all night and made it uncomfortable. We think the AC and humidity in the room may have caused it.

With just 16 rooms and a remote setting, it was quiet and relaxing. There are electric car chargers, too. The owners were great and always working to improve the place, which was probably the best part of staying there. It’s not actually in town, but in a secluded valley to the north. That seems to be something to do with city or county addressing.

The night sky was stunning, with no other businesses nearby. Just keep in mind that Hanksville is the closest town, so there aren’t convenience stores or gas stations close by. There’s no cell reception, and the inn’s free Wi-Fi can be slow when it’s busy. We stayed at the Cathedral Valley Inn in Caineville instead of Torrey while visiting Capitol reef national Park in April 2026. It’s a small inn, but the rooms are large, and the owners work on site and were very helpful. Our room with two double beds had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and kettle. There’s also a laundry room with two washers and two dryers. Breakfast is complimentary but the options are limited. The pool and hot tub were there, though they weren’t opening until the end of April. We enjoyed our stay and would come back if we’re in the area again.

We weren’t planning to stay overnight, and the inn was fully booked, but we still recommend stopping by if you’re passing through. Both times we came through while cycling around the Capitol Reef area, the staff were friendly and welcoming. On our first visit, they let us eat our picnic lunch in the shade under a tree and gave us very helpful, knowledgeable, accurate advice about local gravel roads. It was much more useful than what we got at the Parks visitor center. When we rolled in the second time, they let us refill our water, have coffee, use the WiFi, and buy some pop.
