I travel often for work and usually stay at the Marriott, but a conference in town had most hotels sold out or extremely expensive. I was booked here for December 16-18. The place looked passable online, and I thought I could put up with it for a few days. I wish I’d read more reviews first. At check-in, the woman at the desk said my room number out loud while I was traveling alone with two men behind me. I felt unsafe and asked her to give me the room number privately. She said that was the only room and I couldn't switch. I told her not to do that to anyone again because it was extremely unsafe. The bathroom was covered in pee, including the raised toilet seat, with hair on the floor and counter. The bed looked barely made and unkempt. The whole place smelled horrible and seemed so dirty it should be demolished. I went down to ask for another room. Another woman traveling alone was at the desk complaining about bedbugs and said it wasn't safe to stay. The desk agent again refused to move me, offering only to have someone clean up a little. That wasn't acceptable after such a horrible experience. I wanted to leave, but she said she couldn't refund me and I'd have to speak to the manager. I've called the hotel over 30 times and contacted corporate repeatedly, but they can't do anything because it's individually owned. I often travel to Rapid City for work, and have gone there in person three different times on my own time, leaving handwritten notes asking the manager to call. I've never heard back. DO NOT STAY HERE!

The only reason I chose this hotel was the double-length parking spaces up front for my car and trailer. At $281 a night, I expected somewhere nice, but it was the sleaziest operating hotel I've stayed in. It looked nothing like the online pictures. Wyndham has its name on the property and should be ashamed. Corporate Customer Care told me it has almost no control over franchisees, and I've lost trust in Wyndham Hotels. There was no first layer of security because the exterior doors wouldn't close. The windows wouldn't open, there was no fresh air, the room smelled wet and musty, and lamps were missing bulbs. The pool was green and uncared for. The exercise equipment was in a basement dungeon with overflowing toilets. People who weren't guests seemed to be living down there, and the hidden room had only one exit, so using the equipment felt extremely dangerous. The front desk staff, Bobby and Olivia, were almost never there, so we had to yell and look for them. They could only check guests in or out as the computer allowed. When a family emergency meant I had to leave a day early, I told the desk by 9 a.m. the previous morning. They said I'd still have to pay. I asked for Cindy, who I was told was the manager, and was told she'd be in at noon. She never came. I repeatedly asked for a call, but Cindy has never called back. Nobody follows up, the staff don't take responsibility, and it feels like they hide from problems and don't care about customers. At checkout I was told they'd charged my card another $27.88 because the price was wrong on both Wyndham confirmation emails. I showed Bobby the emails, and he just said they were wrong without explaining further. He couldn't print a receipt and promised several times to email it. I never received one.

On October 18th, I booked a room here, but we didn't stay. As soon as we entered, I saw two or three cockroaches running across the floor, including near my child's feet. We left immediately and requested a refund at the front desk. The manager refused, even though we hadn't used the room. It was a very disappointing experience. Cleanliness and hygiene are basic requirements. I can't recommend the hotel unless it deals with pest control and customer service.

We were without power, heat, and water at home after the wind storm, so I had to stay here. Bed bugs, hair on the pillows and sheets, a gross bathroom, peeling wallpaper, and mold on the shower curtain. The towels looked used and stained, and the breakfast was horrible. The window was blocked shut with a 2X4 🙄, and a trash compactor just outside ran past 10:30 p.m. Electrical panels were open in the hallways, and bags of garbage sat by the main door overnight. I also got caught by the third-party “cancellation insurance,” which added $10. This was a gross experience and I should be refunded. I’m planning to call the manager today.

I was alone with my child trying to check in while several homeless people outside came up, tried to talk to me, and looked in my car. The front desk woman was extremely rude. Once we got to the room, it reeked of cigarette smoke. The bed was covered in green, brown, and yellow stains, the bathroom was disgusting, and there were mouse droppings by the refrigerator. When I opened the curtain, homeless people were trying to peek in. I grabbed our bags and checked out. Some employees made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe, and the same people outside hounded me while I put my child in the car. Do NOT stay here. It was extremely disgusting, and the area seemed unsafe.
