SpringHill Suites by Marriott Boise ParkCenter

Our travel hockey team stayed here for a tournament, and the staff were wonderful to all our families. Thanks to the management and everyone working there. It worked out great for our group. I’d pick this place for a trip with family, kids, a team, or for business.

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was pretty good. We also liked the pool and hot tub. But with every room booked, we couldn’t switch after finding several issues: one bed was broken, a mirror light didn’t work, there was no hair dryer, and what looked like mold was on the bathroom ceiling. The walls were thin too, so we heard a screaming baby next door and a TV blaring on the other side. For a Marriott, we expected better. Given the room’s condition, it felt like we could have slept just as well at a cheaper motel, so I can’t really recommend it.

The hotel itself was nice, with a clean, spacious lobby and decent rooms, though they felt tired. Breakfast was okay, except the eggs were awful. I also liked that they opened a conference room for the kids, which was a smart way to give them a place to gather. The rest of our trip was quiet, despite the chaos some other hockey teams brought. We were treated respectfully, and I felt bad for the employees dealing with those groups. We were assigned here for a hockey tournament and arrived late on Thursday as a family of five. When we turned down the beds, the sofabed linens were soiled with urine and blood. The front desk quickly brought fresh linen and apologized. I told Monique, the Director of Sales, so she could alert the managers. She was kind and responsive by email, and she comped that night, then assured me by phone and email that the issue was being handled internally. I’d heard another hockey parent had trouble with her over service animal and room availability, but I had no negative experience with her. Given how quickly they responded to our serious problem, I’d come back and look forward to seeing the hotel after its remodel.

There’s plenty of parking, and it’s only minutes from downtown. The gym is a decent size, and the hot tub stays open year round. Rooms are clean and modern, with an unusual sink and counter setup. They recognize Bonvoy status without any fuss, and the staff are pleasant. Breakfast is the usual budget chain fare, nothing special, but it does the job. The hallways can be confusing depending on your room because they circle an inner courtyard. I’ll stay here again, 10/10.
