Chateau Rooms

Our server was lovely, and we had a magical dinner out. Kudos to the chef and staff. On October 13, we had an excellent meal in the dining room beside the fireplace on a cozy fall evening. The rooms and setting were gorgeous, such a special spot. We started with French onion soup and the arugula and beet salad, both so good. The chateaubriand and chicken were outstanding, with perfect accompaniments. The wine list was amazing, and the bar was beautiful. We finished with carrot cake and were very happy with it.

After a lovely dinner, we made s'mores at the fire pit and chatted with some of the other guests, which was really nice. Our server was friendly, relaxed, and gave excellent service. What a wonderful evening. I'll definitely be back.

The lake view and the charm of the indoor dining area were lovely. I had brunch, and the food was decent, but for the price it wasn't anything special. The service was the bigger issue. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating, but seemed inexperienced and even spilled while carrying the drinks. I ordered my eggs well done, then only realized once we were eating that he'd given my plate to another diner. I couldn't eat the wet eggs. When he cleared the table, mine were the only thing left, but instead of checking whether they were all right, he offered me a box. I probably should have said something, but I was with friends and didn't want to.

We were staying at the Sagamore on vacation, and after someone told us about the chateau, my fiancée and I went there for dinner and cocktails at the bar. The music and atmosphere were great, and everyone made us feel welcome. We had calamari, ravioli, and steak, and the food was outstanding. What made it feel like more than just a meal was the staff. Bartenders Michael and Andrea had great banter and kept us engaged. The servers were friendly too, including one I think was named Elaina, who chatted with us while picking up drinks. When we're in NY again, we'll make the trip to that Chateau.
