The resort grounds are beautiful, with stunning lake views, and the staff were the best part of our stay. From valet to waitstaff to bartenders, they were kind, attentive, and welcoming. Many remembered our names and greeted us warmly whenever we crossed paths, which made things feel personal. We came from NYC for a relaxing break at The Sagamore Resort. While researching it, we didn't find reviews that clearly described it as family focused, so that was a surprise when we arrived. We have nothing against a family friendly setting, but had we known, we'd likely have picked another hotel. The main problem for us was how many children were around and how often parents seemed not to supervise them. We understand this is a family friendly resort, but it was disappointing to see other guests and staff frequently disregarded. During meals, kids often ran through the dining areas and nearly collided with servers carrying food. Young children were also often in the clearly marked 18+ and 16+ spaces, including the hot tub and gym, sometimes without supervision and sometimes with adults who seemed not to think the age rules applied to their children. Maybe this resort is best for families with young kids, which is perfectly fine. Given the nightly price, though, our restful getaway had too many disruptions. Staff also had to work around children running barefoot, throwing footballs, and playing tag in restaurant and bar areas.

A thoughtful anniversary gift was waiting in our room, a lovely bottle of champagne. We had delicious room service and restaurant meals as usual, and will definitely return. We had a great time at Sagamore over MLK weekend, staying in a spacious, well stocked one-bedroom hermitage suite. The bathroom is upstairs on the second floor, which was a bit inconvenient. We brought our dog, and there are lots of walking trails. Some people in our group tried the outdoor hot pool and loved it.

The lodge bedroom was very cold at night, so we slept in the living room beside the fireplace, where it was much more comfortable. Our free day fell on a Sunday, and there were very few activities available. I'd come back in spring or summer, when more is offered and the full experience can be enjoyed. The Sagamore Resort was a beautiful place to stay. We were in the lodge, and the main hotel and conference spaces were especially elegant and well decorated. It felt secluded, with beautiful views. The catering was nicely done and presented. Our event planners chose desserts that were less sweet than I personally like, but they were still tasty and well executed.

This was our second visit to the Sagamore, and it was just as good as our first. It's an impressive resort in a beautiful part of NYS. Staff were helpful throughout: the concierge arranged daily hikes, the Field House team were great with the kids, and the front desk and valet staff were wonderful to talk to. We enjoyed the meals and the fireplaces. We'll be back soon!

We arrived to chocolate covered strawberries and two bottles of champagne, a perfect start to our anniversary stay. The resort and lake grounds are stunning, the staff are great, and the breakfast buffet was especially good. We even got to pet a deer that came up to us on the nature trail. Such a dreamy, special place, and we couldn't have been happier with the upgrades and beauty. Highly recommend it to everyone!
