American Inn & Suites

We had to leave during Super Nationals because of a family emergency. The booking agency was willing to give us a partial refund, but when they spoke with “Bob,” he refused. We won't be back. Thanks a bunch.

The room smelled, the bed was hard as a rock, and the blanket was paper thin. They advertise breakfast, but don't serve it. The people had a terrible attitude and seemed not to care about the property. They also own the SUPER8 in town, which probably isn't any better. I'll stay in Ames next time. I don't recommend this place, the hotels in Ames are better.

The room was clean, but the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the bedspread had a cigarette burn despite this being a non-smoking room. The hallways and office aren't air-conditioned, and there was no breakfast or pool, despite what the website says. I've stayed here before and don't remember it being this way. I wouldn't recommend it.

The place smelled funky throughout, and neither the check-in area nor halls had air conditioning. It's very dated, with hard, uncomfortable beds. We had to plug in the refrigerator and microwave ourselves. There was only one towel and washcloth for our room booked for two. I won't stay here again.
