The Horton Hotel and Rooftop Lounge

We like supporting local Boone businesses and enjoy a good rooftop, but the bar service was terrible. Right after a game, they should have been fully staffed and ready. Service was unreasonably slow, and the simple, familiar drinks we ordered were awful, completely undrinkable. We won’t be back.

The rooftop bar view was amazing, and the service was out of this world. Briana was so attentive and made our drinks absolutely perfect, really scrumptious. The whole staff was helpful and kind. Amazing hotel!

A fabulous downtown view, good drinks, and great company made this breezy rooftop bar feel like perfection. We enjoyed it so much.

The rooftop view in this adorable town is great, but the basics of craft cocktails weren’t there for us. I tried the Butterfly effect first. It was light and could make a nice summer drink, though the flavors felt out of balance. Then I ordered an Old Fashioned, which I try at every cocktail bar. It was watery, served in a warm glass with a lot of ice, about as much as you’d get in a soda. They remade it without fuss, but it was still watery and had no ice. She said it had been made neat, which I hadn’t asked for, but it had clearly been chilled with ice, so it wasn’t neat anyway. We left when a group of 15 came up with seven kids who were running around and being loud. Between that and the cheap patio couch with cushions falling off, the atmosphere just wasn’t worth paying $12-15 per drink.
