Brown's Wharf Inn

This family-owned old motel has plenty of charm, and the bay views make it worth a visit. We booked a large corner room with a wraparound balcony overlooking the water. The room had the standard amenities and lots of space, with plenty of parking available. The bathroom and vanity were very small, though. It has a tub shower and a little vanity outside. Breakfast was a minimal continental one, and the restaurant here is permanently closed. We only stayed one night while traveling elsewhere, then had dinner and watched a beautiful sunset at a restaurant next to the motel.

The dining room was such a pleasant place to start the day, with nautical decor, sailing ships, old artifacts, and models of beautiful schooners. We could watch the busy harbor and fishing boats heading out, and the sunrise was magnificent. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of coffee and delicious muffins, plus a beautiful view of Boothbay harbor. The location was perfect, parking was ample, and the staff were wonderful. There really wasn't anything negative to say. The staff were very accommodating, and Michelle, one of the owners, paid attention to what we needed and even helped us get to and from one of our activities. It was all just perfect.

A bit of heaven on earth. The views are gorgeous, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, and the housekeeping is fantastic. It's nice that daily service is still available here. There's a nice continental breakfast from 7 to 10am, and coffee and tea are available until 10pm. Book it!

We loved having our own balcony overlooking the water, where we could sit with coffee and a book. The views were gorgeous, and the small breakfast was a nice way to start the day. The lobster wharf next door was great for dinners and drinks, and the shops and restaurants by the harbor were just a 15-20 minute walk away. We'd definitely stay again.
