La Casa Del Zorro Resort & Spa

What a nice hotel. The rooms were clean, but the nails on the rug strip tore up my feet. I also don't think it's typical not to have daily room turn-down service. I'll try it again in the future and update then, because it feels like it could be a good to great place.

There's so much Colorado Desert plant life right at La Casa del Zorro: ironwood, mesquite, palo verde, rabbitbrush, and plenty more. The landscaping team deserves real applause for the work. I'd love to see interpretive signs for guests who are curious or less familiar with desert ecosystems. With this much biodiversity on the property, you hardly need to go into Anza-Borrego to experience the richness of the Southwest. It's already here.

The rear dining area was much too bright for a romantic dinner, and that's the one thing I'd change. Aside from the lighting, it had a warm, inviting atmosphere. My wife and I tried The Fox Bistro during a recent stay at another property in Borrego Springs. It was our first time there, and we're glad we went. The food, drinks, and service were all great. We'll definitely return.

The grounds are clean, clearly marked, and neatly maintained, with several buildings, casas, pools, and fun places to explore on foot. We enjoyed winding walks with our pet. Everyone working here was cordial, sweet, and very professional. Special thanks to Gerry at the bar, Romy and Martha at the front desk for their hospitality, candor, and excellent service. Mowgli and I had an amazing stay at the LCDZ resort. I'm definitely coming back. I love Borrego Springs and the warmth it brings to my soul. There's something mystical, spiritual, and grounding in this sacred place tucked away in the Anza Borrego valley. La Casa del Zorro feels like a perfect little version of the beautiful valley town.
