Towneplace Suites Shreveport-Bossier City

Ms.Tomika made check-in smooth and coordinated everything well. The staff were excellent and wholesome, and the rooms were clean with extra towels provided. We had a great one-night stay, even though there weren’t any two-bedroom units available and they had to work around that. Ms. Beth sorted out the confusion and made checkout efficient for Amy’s. My mother-in-law had a breakfast restriction, and Ms.Sharon quickly found the food item she needed. I really appreciated those thoughtful touches. We’re travelers, but this will be my go-to when I’m passing through Shreveport. Thanks to the wonderful staff for making it memorable.

Ms.Brenda at breakfast was awesome, and my toddler surprisingly liked her scrambled eggs even though he usually spits out all kinds of eggs. We stayed one night in a studio on the third floor, and the Pack N Play was already set up when we arrived. I’d asked through the chat feature on my Bonvoy app, and they replied quickly. The room was spacious, with plenty of storage and everything furnished for a longer stay. All the equipment worked well. I did have a personal accident in the dark because of where they put the TV cabinet 🤣. I also found a surprise in the drawer, a Bible!

The rooms were clean enough for a short stay and decent, though nothing special. The place feels dated and could use a refresh. We were only passing through for one night, so it did the job, but it wasn’t memorable and I wouldn’t go out of my way to return. The first impression wasn’t good: the lobby at TownePlace Suites was underwhelming and set the tone.

The staff who checked me in were among the friendliest I’ve met, and they were very professional. But I spend about 100 days a year in Marriott Hotels, and this was by far the worst bathroom I’ve encountered. It doesn’t meet Marriott standards and should be taken out of service until the problems are fixed. The shower valve was very hard to turn and likely needs replacing. A roller on the glass shower door is nearly off and tilted sideways, making the door hard to open and causing it to grind. If left as is, the door could come down, hopefully not on a guest. The fiberglass shower panels are coming loose, with large visible gaps and no caulking, which could let water behind them and create mold. There appeared to be mold on the ceiling near the light, and the ceiling paint was peeling and needs a full repaint. The shower caulking was sloppy. Using blue tape to line the gaps before caulking would help. Someone also painted messily around the sink granite, where blue tape would help too. At the shower base, it looked like someone had used some sort of seal tape instead of sealing it properly, which looked tacky. The whole area around the base was funky with gunk, as if it hadn’t been cleaned properly, and looked nasty. I’ve attached pictures. Housekeeping should have caught some of this, so there seems to be a disconnect with maintenance. I’d be interested to know if other rooms are like this or if I just had a bad encounter. I had no other issues with the rest of the room.
