DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Boston - Cambridge

Getting around from here was a real downside. The hotel feels like an island among highways and streets, with limited public transit and little within walking distance. Winter and bad weather made that lack of access even more obvious. There's a parking garage attached, which is convenient. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were decent and well cleaned, but none of the HD channels on the TV worked, leaving about four stations if you're stuck inside. I won't stay here again.

I keep coming back for the lovely views and the people at Fusion Lounge and Boathouse 400, the breakfast and brunch restaurant. My favorite is DELMY at Fusion Lounge. She makes great drinks, is personable, and remembers me and other returning guests. Over the Charles is also worth checking out in summer for the views and karaoke on some nights. I've stayed at this DoubleTree for about a month and a half across four or five visits over the past year, mainly because it's close to Harvard. The free campus shuttle is very convenient for Harvard Square and other parts of Cambridge when it runs. When it doesn't, staff aren't very forthcoming with help. Once they got me a cab, but other times they just shrugged, said it wasn't running, and looked away. The front desk staff can be gruff and stand-offish, and don't give much information even when asked. Also, don't use the pool hot tub: the tile grout is in bad shape, leaving gritty broken stone on the bottom and seats, so it's uncomfortable.

Hanna at the front desk made the biggest difference. She helped with check-in, answered my questions about the area, and was friendly and professional throughout. The room was spotless and well appointed, and the location worked perfectly for what I wanted to do. From arrival on, everything felt clean, smooth, and welcoming. I had a wonderful stay at Doubletree by Hilton Boston and would happily return. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for helpful service and a relaxing visit.

I especially loved breakfast, which was delicious. It was the first time I'd had such a great breakfast experience in the US. I stayed here for two days last week and had an amazing time. Does anyone know what brand of whole milk they serve? It was so rich, sweet, and flavorful that I'd like to buy some. Thanks so much!
