This stay was a real letdown, especially for what I paid. The room was tiny, and cold air came through the small windows. My throat started hurting after about 30 minutes. The towels were dirty, and all they provided for toiletries was a tiny bar of soap instead of proper shower gel. Parking was a nightmare too. I’ve stayed at other hotels in this franchise and had good experiences, but this one disappointed me completely.

Keep a close eye on your card transactions if you stay with Sonder. I had five charges I hadn’t authorized, including one during pre-authorization that I might have missed if I hadn’t been tracking my finances carefully. Customer service was slow and vague, and sorting out the charges and refunds was frustrating and problematic.

The location was really good, but the room smelled musty from the moment we walked in, and the odor got stronger inside. The things placed in the room to mask it didn’t help. Our mobile key failed, and there was no staff on-site. Water from the shower dripped all over the floor, and there was a huge smashed bug on the wall in the very small room. At $300 or more a night, it wasn’t worth it.

The location is amazing, and I’d highly recommend staying here. I was nervous after reading the latest reviews, but when we checked in there was someone in the office who could help if needed. Our room on the bottom floor was very nice and clean. I had a luggage question on checkout day, sent it through the chat in the Sonder app, and got a response.

It’s small but laid out well, and the location is perfect. The place was clean, had plenty of towels, and there’s a staff member. The pull-out sofa was a little uncomfortable for my teenager, though not terrible. Noise from the restaurant in the alley below can carry up even to the fourth floor in the middle of the night. They do provide a sound machine to help with it. I’d definitely recommend it, especially for the location.
