The Constitution Inn

The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, there weren’t enough pillows, and the room felt like a very outdated college dorm. We never got our welcome bag either. On the morning we checked out, they shut off the water at 8 a.m., so I couldn’t shower, brush my teeth, or use the toilet. We’d been told on arrival that there’d be no water for about three hours, but they still charged me a $20 “resort” fee. That should at least have been waived. Can you even run a hotel without water? It was a very disappointing stay, and I won’t return.

We liked the area, and the price was lower than many hotels. The place was clean, but the rooms felt dated, with old furniture, worn floors and bathrooms, and uncomfortable beds. The toilets also didn’t flush properly, and the decor was close to ugly. Some staff were polite and helpful, while others weren’t friendly at all. Would I come back? No. But if you need somewhere inexpensive and clean, it’s not a bad option. Photos taken with Pixel 4 XL.

The room was quite spacious, and a senior staff member was kind and helpful. The toilet, though, was uncomfortably low, with the water level ridiculously high. It was also especially dirty, and the rest of the place felt overused and somewhat dirty too. There’s nothing around the hotel, and it doesn’t have a cafeteria or restaurant. When I asked a staff member if I could check out two hours later, he looked me up and down, smirked, and said, “Nah... Maybe half an hour.” Some of the staff, particularly the younger ones, didn’t seem very professional.

It was unbearably hot in the room, with no AC or ventilation. The little fan they provided made no difference, and hot air was blowing right onto our faces. When I asked to change rooms, the front desk said they were all the same and another one would be just as hot. The windows wouldn’t open all the way, either. The bathroom and restroom were the worst, like a sauna where we could barely breathe. The vending machines for water bottles were broken, and so were both the detergent machine and the washing machine. The whole hotel felt defective.
