At first the staff seemed kind and understanding about our situation. My boyfriend, my son, and I were homeless, and after our first stay we came back because it was the cheapest place in Bowling Green. They gave us a couple of discounts, and the location was convenient, within walking distance of several things. The place was vintage, musty-smelling, and the rooms were pretty small, but we stayed on and off for about two weeks. One time, a woman said she'd charge an extra $50 for a remote my child had broken, saying she couldn't get one from Walmart because it came from Spectrum. We let that go. Our next stay wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. A friend said someone had paid about $650 for a month, but the staff wouldn't quote us a weekly rate, especially given our situation. We were both employed and weren't asking for a handout, just a little understanding. The last time my boyfriend and son tried to book, they were told we needed a $250 deposit, even though we'd never been charged one before. Later, a booking agency told us they were charging it because they claimed my son had repeatedly switched the AC on and off and broken it. I find that hard to believe. After the remote incident, I'd talked with my son about not touching things, and I was watching him, so I know he didn't touch it. It felt like they were using our child as an excuse to charge us for repairs to faulty equipment, knowing our situation. When we left, the husband came out while we were still packing the car and rudely raised his voice, accusing us of taking a sheet he couldn't find. Our child had accidentally wrapped it in a blanket, and my boyfriend quickly sorted that out. He'd been friendly and waved us goodbye, then completely changed his attitude two minutes later. It was very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have absolutely nowhere else to go and need a cheap rate. The whole experience was really bad. My boyfriend said we were done and would let people know what happened. Good luck to anyone going there with a child.

It was clean and cool, which was all I really cared about, and the bed was comfortable. There was a microwave and refrigerator too. The room was small. I don't know if they have bigger ones.

The staff are super friendly, and the place is quiet and clean. It's only four minutes from main downtown and the cheapest in the city. Even with 1000 motels in BG, I'd still pick this one as the best. I'll definitely stay here again.

This is a vintage Mom and Pop hotel, from the 1960s or earlier, owned and run by a couple who live on the property. It's well kept, clean, and the bedding is fresh. Their combo heater and AC works very well, and I plan to keep supporting them by staying again. They're the least expensive hotel in Bowling Green. The single-bed rooms are tight, with just one chair and no desk. The shower is quite small, so it could be hard to get in and shower if you're a bigger person. To get hot water, you have to run the sink's hot tap for several minutes first. The cable selection isn't great, and several channels are fuzzy.

The couple were easy to talk to right from the start, and the place felt safe and well looked after. The rooms were clean, and the heater and AC were definitely powerful enough for the space. I liked the vintage atmosphere.
