The room was clean, and for the price it wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed, though it could use some freshening up. I’d heard the whole hotel had been redone, but the colors still need work. The bathroom felt cramped, with a counter too large for the space and a door that was hard to close. Moving around in there felt like being in a stall. The little button lights and a lamp with a foot pedal took me back to a dorm room. The TV was frustrating too, with channels constantly going out. Before we got to the room, the outside looked dated, while the updated lobby, restaurant, and small entertainment room felt inviting. The elevator had a cute nostalgic look, with old magazine covers, but stepping onto the second floor was like walking into Ernest Goes to Camp. The hallway carpet was clearly styled to look like the early ’70s. I was disappointed there wasn’t a BIBLE. I always bring mine, but it would be nice to know every hotel has one in case someone needs it. Someone could find Jesus there, and you could help them secure their salvation. No one should be separated from the Love of God. Mark 16:15 God bless!!

The pillows were absurdly overstuffed, so I was glad we brought our own. Water pressure was questionable during our stay, and we couldn’t make sense of the hot tub knobs. The jets seemed to shut off very quickly, and the lights in that area unexpectedly went out. The property itself is nice, the staff are great, and the aesthetic is very cute. There’s a gas station across the street if you need anything.

The pool was closed while we were there, and housekeeping wasn’t provided, which was disappointing. Even so, we had a great stay at Field & Stream in Bozeman. The renovated hotel is cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful with local recommendations. They even offered pool towels for our hot springs trips and s’mores for the cute outdoor fire pits. We also loved the small touches: a hot cocoa bar and postcards to send to friends and family. Those details made the visit feel special.

I came to Bozeman because of a family medical concern and initially picked Field and Stream for what seemed like a fair price in a good location. During a busy weekend, the room was quiet, spacious, and had a top-notch bed. The hotel was meticulously maintained, and the people working there were friendly and caring. When an impending death in the family meant I had to extend my stay for an indefinite period, Jo Jo at the front desk was thoughtful and considerate. They helped extend my dates and find the best value. F & S became much more than a charming themed place to sleep. They showed real hospitality.

I won’t stay here again. The place looks nothing like the pictures, the courtyard grass is 12 inches high, and the hot tub and pool were cold. I couldn’t figure out the hot tub controls, and its hours end at 10. Kids screamed all day and dogs barked all night. The coffee setup in the room is warmers, not a coffee maker. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling where the fan should be, and the phone didn’t work to call the front desk. Housekeeping was rude. I had to track down a cleaner for towels, and it takes two hours to clean each room. Service was horrible. The food portions were small for the high price.
