Sunrise Inn

A jacked-up, broken-down truck and a golf cart were parked right outside my assigned room, blocking three spaces. It looked unprofessional and created safety concerns, with access and parking obstructed. Inside, the room smelled musty, and then I saw what was clearly a rat run across the floor and hide under the dresser. I left the door open, went straight to the front desk, and said I would not stay there. The clerk refunded my security deposit and told me to contact Expedia about the rest. Expedia contacted the desk for me, but the clerk then refused the remaining refund and claimed the animal was a gecko. I know what I saw. Calling it something else doesn’t change that there was a rodent in the room, which is a serious sanitation and health concern. The conditions outside, along with the odor and animal inside, made me question the property’s upkeep and guest safety. I’ll notify the appropriate health authorities. I won’t stay here again.
