Fairfield Inn & Suites Bridgewater Branchburg/Somerville

My stay was completely thrown off by the renovation. I hadn’t been told about it when I booked for Jan 11th, but at check-in the receptionist asked if I really needed a room and said they were renovating. After some back and forth, they gave me a room, then asked whether I needed breakfast, and eventually admitted they were renovating and told me to find another hotel. The rooms are old and dirty, and the whole way they handled this felt like a mess. Is this how Marriots members are treated?

The parking lot hadn’t been plowed or cleaned up properly. I know it’s been a rough winter in the northeast, but it still needed a lot more attention. Our room was clean, with newly installed carpet, though the bathroom door wouldn’t shut and the HVAC was old and noisy. The renovation seemed to leave the hotel disorganized, including the breakfast seating area. Even though I was one of just three people there early, the tables weren’t clean. My coffee was fine, but the next person got the last partial cup because the carafe was empty. Breakfast was pretty limited: make-your-own waffles, oranges, yogurt, and cereal, with no other hot food. Maybe the remodel will improve things. I hope so, because this wasn’t a great stay.

We’d travelled 11 hours for our wedding, and the room we got was filthy. There were large patches of mold on the walls, plus mold and water damage across the shower ceiling. When we pulled back the bedding, we found clumps of hair on the bed. There was toothpaste on the bathroom doors and spiderwebs everywhere. I don’t know why anyone was put in that room. It didn’t feel sanitary at all. Luckily, we spent almost the whole time at a different hotel.

The staff are excellent, and the rooms have been completely renovated. When I’m in the area, this is the only place I stay.
