Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Brandon Amphitheater

The renovated rooms looked amazing and were impeccably clean, but my stay ended with missing belongings and staff who brushed off my concerns. I’d left a satchel containing vintage trading cards I intended to sell to a local buyer. I valued them at over 20 thousand dollars in total, with each card worth $750-2500. Phone chargers and other things were missing too. I asked about them and was met with indifference. Since leaving for downtown Jackson by Uber, I’ve asked several staff members about the missing items and they’ve either brushed me off or abruptly ended the conversation. I’m very upset about the profit I’m missing and want this issue corrected. My first check-in went smoothly. Staff were accommodating about my situation and let me store my belongings while I took care of an errand that was emotionally trying and physically taxing. On my second arrival, though, things changed. A male front desk worker, whose name I can’t recall, made a remark, and my questions about the area and my accommodations were met with hostility and pointed comments. There had also been a mix-up with the reservation. I booked the night before online, but overnight staff deleted it without my permission. I then paid cash for one night, and they honored the reservation for another. Altogether, I paid about $180 for roughly 30 hours. On my last morning, around 10:57 a.m., the female front desk worker asked if I was staying another night. I know getting up late didn’t help, so I’ll give her some grace. She seemed upset. I said I was staying and needed to sort out my account, then would meet her downstairs by 11:30 a.m. While I was getting ready, she asked me to move some belongings so they could clean the room. I took my main bags to the lobby, decided to walk at a Nature Park, and planned to return later. When I came back, I asked for the smaller things I knew I’d left in the room and that shouldn’t have interfered with cleaning.

The room was clean, and the blackout blind behind the regular one helped a lot. We could hear the noisy people in the next room, though. Aside from that, it was a great stay. Edward helped when we called to book. He was friendly, attentive, quick to get everything arranged, and told us how far the hotel was from our venue. At check-in, Keisha was all smiles and seemed to enjoy her job. She got us through quickly, explained where our room was, and pointed out some local places to eat.

The rooms were nice and newly renovated, and the staff were really courteous. Between the location and the service, everything was exceptional. I highly recommend the hotel and plan to stay here again on my business trip.

For a quick stop to rest, it was okay, and I’d stay again, maybe a 7/10. The mattress was pretty comfortable, the bar soap smelled really good and didn’t dry out my hands, and I liked having several ways to plug things in by the lights. Still, $70 felt seriously overpriced for the bare minimum. The bed frame was so loud when I sat on it, like it needed oil or something. The duvet was thin, which is usually nice for a hot sleeper, but not when it’s below freezing outside and the room heater won’t get warm.
