Antlers Resort

It rained nonstop for all five days, so our family and my son’s five wrestling buddies didn’t get out much or spend much time on the lake. Luckily, the place itself was lovely and had plenty of room for all of us to stay and play games. I’ll book here again!

The place was very clean, had enough toilet paper and towels, and the view over Table Rock Lake was gorgeous. But the kitchen wasn’t as stocked as we’d been told: there were no baking sheets or measuring spoons, and only 10 sets of silverware for a place that sleeps many more. The upstairs bedroom layout made the trundle beds unusable, and the water pressure was so weak I couldn’t rinse conditioner out of my hair. The owner/manager was very unresponsive to questions while we were there. I was with a group and hadn’t made the reservations myself. The hot tub was over chlorinated, enough to trigger an asthma attack in one of my kids, and it wasn’t heating properly. I was told we got a discount because the hot tub wasn’t heating.

Antlers has a great pool, clean and fairly well appointed units, and decent beds and linens. We stayed in a lower unit, though, and the upstairs noise seriously cut into our sleep. Our neighbors weren’t partying or roller skating; they were just walking around, opening and closing doors, and moving what sounded like heavy things. They stayed up later than we did, which surprised me since it sounded like they had toddlers, and then seemed to get up early and run a marathon overhead. I’m joking, but the noise really did leave all of us sleep deprived. I’d absolutely return to the resort, just not in a lower unit.

We spent a week here and had a wonderful time. The resort is tucked away but still near plenty of amenities, with boat slips and a launch on site. The pools were great and there was lots of room to spread out. Our living space was new and comfortable, the views were awesome, and the staff were top notch. We’re making this a new family tradition.
