Classic Motor Inn Branson

The desk attendant was welcoming and really nice. The beds and shower were clean, and I was happy with the room for the price. It was basic, and the floor needed sweeping while the shower curtain needed serious repair. Still, I’d stay here again.

My only room complaint was that there wasn’t a coffee pot, though I travel with my own. The room itself was clean, including the fridge and microwave, and I’m glad to say I found no signs of bed bugs after checking the mattress and box spring as soon as I arrived. Breakfast wasn’t very good, but I was fine with a waffle and cereal. If you want a motel breakfast with meat and potatoes, this isn’t it. They might have had eggs, but I’m not sure. The cappuccino tasted watery, and my husband thought the juice was too sugary. We didn’t see an ice machine, either. The man in the office was friendly and attentive, and always at the desk when we needed him. He was the only person we saw working the desk during our three nights. Good price, good service, good rooms. I highly recommend it.

We left and booked somewhere else after seeing the room. The beds had been made, but the bathroom had hair, there were crumbs on the floor, stains on the sheets, and a dirty mirror. Breakfast also wasn't being served because occupancy was low. That wasn't a huge issue, but we wish we'd known before arriving. We chose the nonrefundable option for Captial- O and regretted it. Lesson learned: always book refundable.

The showerhead was too low for anyone over 5 foot 6 inches, and we only mentioned it to Berry while checking out. He said he could have added an extension if we'd let him know sooner. The linens were clean but a little worn, and the hotel is older, with Berry and a few employees working through updates. During our week there, Berry, the owner and manager, was around every day at the desk or helping clean rooms. He was friendly and professional with us and the other guests we saw him meet, and chatted with us in the mornings at breakfast. He told us to let him know if anything came up so he could sort it out. Breakfast ran from 7am-9am, with scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, juice and coffee. There was plenty of outdoor lighting, which made us feel safer. We like a very dark room, so we hung a blanket from the car to block the light and that worked perfectly. The bed was comfortable and the AC got very cold, just how we like it. We're picky about where we stay, but we'd definitely come back. Good value for the price.
