The included breakfast was fresh and good quality, and the receptionist gave us a warm welcome. My room was older, but clean and comfortable. The pool area was clean as well, and the water was heated, which was especially nice on a winter visit. I had an enjoyable stay.

The noisy floor was my main room complaint, though being on the bottom level meant we didn’t have to worry about disturbing anyone below us. The room itself was nice, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom clean, with a heat lamp. We felt safe with the secure door lock, and we actually like outside-facing doors since inside ones tend to get slammed and make noise. We arrived about 15 minutes after the stated check-in time. It was mid-October, and the place felt like home to us, maybe because we’re from a small town. Some reviews had worried my husband and me, but our stay wasn’t as bad as they made it sound. The hot breakfast was what you’d expect at a motel. We didn’t use the pool, hot tub, or saunas, but they looked clean and nice. The front desk had schedules for everything, so I took photos to remember them. The ice machines were broken. For what we paid, I thought it was worth it, and the location was convenient for our plans. Earlier in the week we’d stayed at a “resort” that wasn’t nearly as decent.

I’m glad we never stayed here, but the cancellation and charge were a terrible experience. I called on 10/17 to book for my six-year anniversary, then called on 10/23 to cancel after reading the reviews. On the reservation day, the same man I’d spoken to called asking when we’d check in. I reminded him I had canceled three days earlier and asked whether there’d be a room charge or cancellation fee. He said no, but the next day I was charged $179. They gave terrible service before we even got a room, so I can only imagine what the property and rooms are like. If you want a decent hotel, this isn’t it. If questionable activities are what you’re after for a three-day weekend, maybe it is. Thank goodness we didn’t stay. Do better.

My kids say this is one of their favorite places to stay. We’ve been here many times, including for birthday parties at the pool, and enjoyed the hot tub and the location. It’s close to plenty of restaurants and a Hannaford’s, and not far from exit 3 on 91. It’s an older property, but has what you need.
