La Quinta Inn Milwaukee West Brookfield

The staff were welcoming and really friendly, and the laundry service was affordable. The bed was comfortable and the room had just been renovated. Hot water took a little while to come through, but turning the tap all the way hot got it warm enough to start a shower.

Elizabeth at the front desk was friendly, which was the one good part of our stay. Our first room smelled awful, strongly of chemicals and mold after a major water leak they’d tried to clean up. We asked to move, but the tub in the next room wouldn’t drain, leaving us standing in ankle-deep water to shower. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The second room, 223, was a letdown. The carpet was dirty, it smelled bad, and the AC was mostly okay but sometimes ran a long time, then got loud at the end of a cycle and kept us from sleeping well. We checked out early. Earlier in the trip we’d spent ten days in room 233, which was clean and quiet, with good maid service and an AC that didn’t bother us. I’d rate that room four stars, but 223 only one or two.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, and this one ranks high on my list. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The front desk team were helpful, nice, and professional across the different shifts I dealt with.
