I’m asking ownership or management to review what happened and contact me about an appropriate resolution. This took place today, 1/19/26, on my son’s seventh birthday, and the way we were treated was upsetting and unprofessional. I’ll never return and strongly don’t recommend the hotel. So sad for the babies. The pool sign clearly says it opens at 9:00 AM, so I took my children there shortly before nine. No one had warned me that the actual opening time was 10:00 or asked us to leave before things escalated. Two staff members, an older woman at the front desk and an older man who seemed to be part of the cleaning staff, were immediately hostile and disrespectful. They wouldn’t listen when I pointed to the sign and insisted that “everyone is told it opens at 10,” which can’t be right, since another family was about to enter and didn’t know the hours either. The interaction is on recording from the cops, and the cops’ vests were recording it too. I was also told the life vests weren’t for guests, even though my children were using them appropriately in the pool. I’d only wanted the kids to swim briefly before our long drive home, based on the motel’s own information. If the pool opens at 10:00, the sign needs correcting so guests aren’t misled. Guests should be warned before anyone treats them so aggressively.

This place bites, bed bugs, 116 bites. I stayed in room 103, on the mattress nearest the bathroom, after arriving at 6 p.m. on 9/24. I left around 8 a.m. on 9/25. I was itching yesterday, so I asked my fiancee to look at my back and found marks and tracks that looked like bed bugs. I’ll report the motel to the health department. Be wary of independently owned motels like this. Nothing felt clean. I washed my face at the sink and got water on the floor, wiped it up, and my towel turned black. The room felt like a prison cell, and I begged my fiancee to let me sleep in the car. I should’ve known. Update 9/27: I called the hotel. They said they’d seen my review and refunded me, but didn’t say whether they’d do anything about the suspected bed bug infestation. Be warned, this has caused me a lot of mental and physical stress.

My wife took our kids to the pool at 9, following the posted opening time. The workers came out angry right away and said they’d told us at check-in that it opened at 10. Nobody had told us that, and the sign says 9. There was no courtesy or calm explanation, just attitude. We tried to point out the posted time, but instead of sorting out the communication mix-up, they called the police and had us trespassed. They even admitted they knew the sign was wrong and said they tell guests at check-in, which they hadn’t done. If it opens at 10, post 10. Don’t blame families for following your sign.

The location was fine, and the rooms were clean, though basic, with a Motel 6 sort of feel rather than anything high-end. The stairs up to the rooms felt kind of scary and definitely need replacing. What really bothered me was being told adults weren’t allowed to drink. There was nothing in the online ads or booking information saying alcohol wasn’t allowed on the premises. I find it ridiculous to go on vacation to relax and have fun, then be told I can’t have a glass of wine in my room.

The indoor pool was large, heated, and amazing. The kids loved it, and the three-bed room was a great price. The staff were amazing too, especially after we’d had a horrible experience at the super 8 in Crescent City. There was no vacancy anywhere because something was going on in town. They let us book two nights and pay for the second one later that evening, at 6 p.m., once my wife’s check went in, so we wouldn’t be stuck without a room the next day. This would’ve been five stars if the room had a microwave.
