Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Brookings, SD

We came for a competition, and practice started at 7 am. Serving breakfast at 7 on weekends was a terrible choice. I don't understand why it couldn't start at 6. I shouldn't have to worry about bringing my own food when I'm paying good money for a hotel. The hotel should consider my wellbeing and that of its other guests. I won't stay here again.

We got snowed in, and the man in the suit was helpful and knowledgeable. He found us a room we could check into early. The hot tub was nice and the pool was heated. We slept in, so didn't get to try breakfast. A drunk construction worker did mistakenly think his late-night food delivery was for our room, but otherwise it was a very pleasant stay. We'd definitely come back.

I was in Brookings, SD for one night on business. My flight from Dallas was delayed by more than two hours, so I reached the hotel around 2:00 AM (3/5/2026), and that's when the trouble started. The night-shift employee was extremely rude and seemed to have poor technical skills or training. It took them at least 15 minutes to log in. The system kept rejecting my company and my credit card, which I'd used just two hours earlier. When I asked what I could do, I was told, "I'm not going to give you a free room call your company (at 2am)." I wouldn't recommend arriving here at night. The front desk person was rude and didn't handle my needs.

Jay, also called Jonathan, was a lifesaver and a real asset to Country inn and suites. He helped us with a first aid kit and extra towels, and his recommendations, funny stories, and chitchat made the stay feel special. He led with skill, style, and a personality you don't see every day. I hope he reads this: stay positive, and most of all, stay you. We love you, Jay! The rooms were clean and the staff were very nice. Jay, the front desk manager, clearly loves his job and made the whole experience a delight. We'll stay here again on future trips to Brookings.
