I was headed to Beaumont for work when my truck overheated, so I was stuck without a vehicle while a local shop installed a water pump. That’s why I didn’t just go somewhere else. Enjoy your stay! :-/ At the lobby, where the breakfast sign is, there was no breakfast when I went down at 8 a.m. I saw no sign food had been served earlier either. There was coffee, so that’s something. The room was basic and no frills, more or less what I expected for a roughly $60 rate. The shower head was awful. It either dribbled or, when I twisted the selector, shot tiny streams with skin piercing force, like needles. Hot water eventually came, but took a very long time to reach the shower or sink. I could’ve built a fire, dug a well, hauled up water, heated it, and brought it back before the pipes got warm. The deadbolt wouldn’t catch in the frame. To shut the door from outside, I had to use my pass key card, turn the handle, and pull it closed so it latched somewhat securely. The manager’s wife happened to be on the floor, and I showed her, but got a mumbled excuse and something about her husband trying to fix it. The elevator is the only one in the building, and as it went up to the third floor it made a horrendous scraping sound, as if dragging along the concrete wall for those last inches. I prayed. The manager’s wife was riding with me and gave another excuse, this time about the maintenance company not arriving as promised. The elevator certification expires at the end of Jan 2026, too. At night, the main entrance isn’t secured, so anyone can get into the building at any time. I didn’t see anyone at the desk in the mornings before I left around 10:30. Maybe they were out enjoying breakfast.
