Four Points by Sheraton Milwaukee North Shore

The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and free parking was plentiful, which was a big plus. But one of the main reasons we picked this hotel was the continental breakfast, and it wasn’t complimentary as advertised. Late one evening we needed fresh towels and toilet paper. The front desk employee tried to help, but said housekeeping had gone home and he couldn’t get into the housekeeping closets. We got a tissue box to use as toilet paper, plus a bath mat and hand towel instead of full-size replacement towels. Cleanliness and parking met our expectations, but the breakfast confusion and lack of basic supplies after hours left us disappointed. We had narrowed our choices to hotels with free parking, continental breakfast, and strong reviews. After looking at several options, Four Points by Sheraton seemed the best fit, so we chose it.

The neighbors were very noisy, though that wasn’t the hotel staff’s fault. The room itself was very clean and well furnished, and the hotel is in a quiet area. We were pleasantly surprised to find a sauna along with the hot tub and a nice-sized pool. Breakfast was much better than a typical continental breakfast. It costs $14.95 unless 6pay a few extra dollars at booking for the vouchers. Definitely worth it. We had a wonderful stay and recommend the place.

The staff were very kind, and the food was good. But the grounds were unkept, the grass was knee-high, and the hotel was very run down. Don’t be fooled by the exterior pictures. The pool was empty, with no water, and if I’d seen the real condition, I wouldn’t have stayed. The room was so dimly lit that I had to drag the ironing board into the bathroom to see my clothes while ironing. The bathroom wallpaper was coming unglued and looked ready to fall down. The shower was the worst part, see photos.

We waited about 15 minutes after being seated for breakfast on Tuesday morning, but neither the hostess nor the server greeted or acknowledged us. Nobody checked on us or even offered a basic welcome, so we left without eating. We weren’t expecting exceptional service, just the basic courtesy and acknowledgment due to paying hotel guests.
