Boca Chica Inn & Suites Brownsville

The doors were closed when we arrived, which should have been a sign. Once we got to the room, the tile floor was soaked and the sheets felt very damp. When we pulled the sheets off, roaches came crawling out of the bed and the door. Worst experience.

The first room was dirty and musty, with a leaking toilet and lights that didn’t work. There was no blow dryer, even though the booking said one was in the room, and customer service wouldn’t provide one. The night shift guy was friendly, but the day shift wasn’t. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and definitely won’t book here again.

You’d be better off at Hotel 6 or Hotel 8.

We had arranged an early check-in because we were getting to town around 4 a.m. My husband called about a week ahead, and the lady was very helpful and left a note for the man on duty. Check-in itself went smoothly, but I regretted the stay almost right away. Roaches started appearing on the TV stand and from somewhere near or under the bed before the lights were even out. My husband showered and found a huge cockroach in there. The hotel was dated, which usually doesn’t bother me, but the furniture was damaged and falling apart. The fridge looked moldy, and the bathroom was pretty dirty. If I could give negative stars, I would. Definitely avoid.
