Comfort Suites Brownsville

It still feels like a home away from home, so I was glad to come back when I was in the area recently. I used to stay here often when I worked as a railroad conductor, and the rooms have clearly been updated since then. They’re roomy, fresh, clean, and well kept, and the temperature was just right. The staff were so friendly, a really great team. The location is handy too, with everything I needed within walking distance.

The room had mold, which is unacceptable and a health concern. We also arrived to find no breakfast available, even though free breakfast was advertised. That was one of the main reasons we booked here, so it felt frustrating and misleading. The stay didn’t match what was promised, and I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

The clerk was polite, though a smile would have made the welcome warmer. An enthusiastic hello goes a long way. The rooms looked brand new, but there seemed to be mold in the shower beneath the soap holder. That should be added to the room checklist.

When I arrived on September 24th, I asked at reception whether they could offer a better rate than booking.com, since I was already nearby and had checked its listing. The receptionist said everything was sold out, but the listing was still active, so I don’t believe that was true. She didn’t even look at the computer, then exchanged a knowing look with the male hotel employee beside her. I felt humiliated, offended, and deeply upset. I felt I was being discriminated against because of my race, skin color, or origin. I hope management takes this seriously.
