The Kress Brunswick

The suite worked perfectly for two couples, and we really appreciated how well appointed the Kress was. We also spent time at the rooftop bar and seating area. Restaurants and other points of interest were close by, and the front desk staff were terrific. We had a memorable stay in Brunswick and would highly recommend the hotel.

We loved every minute, from check-in through the moment we had to leave. The staff, decor, spacious rooms, and restaurant were all perfect.

We were frustrated to pay full price for a room the hotel knows is affected by noise, especially since no one asked whether it would bother us or offered another room. At checkout, staff told us guests aren't put in the Gloucester suite on weekends because of the issue. After dinner, the bar and eatery next door was getting ready for the night, and we could hear conversations, music, and kitchen staff through the exceptionally thin walls. TV, earplugs, and the noise machine provided in the bedroom did nothing to block it. The placard had lightly warned that neighbors might be noisy. This was the last night of our two-week trip, and we mainly need accommodations to be clean and quiet enough for a restful night. Our first impression of the hotel and room had been excellent. It was our first visit to Brunswick, and as experienced travelers and former luxury bed and breakfast owners, we wish this review could describe a very different stay.

We found this place halfway through our drive between Charlotte and family in Florida, and we'll stop here every time we make that trip. The rooms are huge, the service personal, and it's impeccably clean. The antique furniture makes for beautiful decor, and the kitchens are high end with washer and dryers as well. It's a hidden gem, so don't hesitate if you're thinking of staying.
