Homewood Suites by Hilton Ft. Worth-North at Fossil Creek

I’m glad I gave it a try, even though the reviews had me nervous. The place was clean, the breakfast was pretty good, and the staff were helpful. The remodel does look like it may have gone to the lowest bidder, though. The living room TV mount was broken, leaving the TV crooked. That was my only complaint. I’d stay again.

The room situation was handled poorly. I found two live roaches in the bathroom and asked the front desk for help. The man there didn’t seem to know what to do, and it felt like he wanted me to sort it out or wait for someone else to decide. He did offer another room, which I obviously wanted, and we moved at 1 a.m. I asked for a refund but didn’t get one. Then at 9 a.m., housekeeping tried to come into the new room. I’m guessing the move hadn’t been entered properly, and luckily we had the extra lock on. Aside from Kristy, I think her name was, on the night shift, the staff were clueless or rude. The place wasn’t very clean either. I’m an honors member and have stayed at plenty of Hilton hotels, but this was easily the most disappointing.

We walked in, got a hard time from the man at the front desk, and canceled the whole week we’d booked. The place smelled and looked like a roach spray commercial. We’re not fussy people, but it was enough for us to leave right away. The area gives you a sense of what it’s like, too. If the lowest price in town is what you’re after, this might be your place. Just know it won’t suit everybody.

Christy at the front desk really turned things around for us during our birthday stay. After a rough start with a rude male employee, she handled every request with a friendly attitude and knew what she was doing. She went well beyond what we expected and made the visit a good one. The room was very nice, and we’d definitely recommend it.
