The room had a warm, personal feel thanks to the thoughtful decor, and the bakery breakfast items left for us were a nice touch. Our kids also found things they liked among the other breakfast options. Calhoun House is an easy walk from the Bryson City train depot, restaurants, and shops. The owners were available, helped us get settled, and showed us the amenities. We asked at the last minute if we could arrive early to attend the Christmas Parade, and they even offered useful advice about parking and road closures. We had a great short weekend stay for the Polar Express and would definitely come back.

We loved sitting on the wraparound porch at sunrise and sunset, watching the lightning bugs flash. Ed & Shirley were so helpful with suggestions for places to go and things to do. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and really do feel like a home away from home. There are hiking trails nearby, and we had some great motorcycle rides too. Town is just a couple of blocks away on foot for food and shopping. Bryson North Carolina is a lovely place to spend a few days and take in the area.

It felt like staying at a friend's house, with comfortable furnishings and decorations. The place was clean, cozy, and handy to downtown. Finding food and drinks left for us in the kitchen was a welcome surprise. A really nice stay.

The porch view in the morning was beautiful, and Ed was very kind when we met him. He also had plenty of helpful information about the area. We stayed in the Movie Suite for one night while visiting Bryson City for a family rafting trip, and the decor and amenities were nice. Booking and communication were straightforward, and the owners had snacks, coffee, drinks, and breakfast waiting for us. We had a great experience and plan to return for a longer visit. Thanks so much!

We'd happily stay here again. The tree house suite has loads of space and a full kitchen, and the owners added thoughtful extras. There was a big range of coffee K-cups, plus continental breakfast treats like tasty pastries and cereal.
