Folkestone Inn

We stayed in the Stems and Petals room, a secluded first-floor room off the main entry. The little patio was lovely, and I enjoyed watching birds in the morning. We'll miss the grounds, the chickens, and the porch cat. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh, and delicious every morning. The Folkestone is quiet and peaceful, and Toni made us feel welcome and at home. The layout gave us chances to socialize, while still offering quiet corners when we wanted privacy. My husband and I had a relaxing, enjoyable stay, and I'd return in a heartbeat. With so many bed and breakfasts becoming glorified hotels, this place still has real hospitality and warmth. Thank you, Toni.

The porch and outdoor spaces were great, and we enjoyed watching the chickens and petting Jerry the cat. Breakfast and coffee were wonderful. We had a great weekend and would recommend staying here.

For our 30th wedding anniversary, we picked a real gem. Our room, Boats and Paddles, had an old-fashioned clawfoot tub and a private balcony with a lovely view. The Inn was very clean, and the rooms were tastefully decorated. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh eggs from their chickens and homemade smoked meats. Our host, Tony, was friendly, helpful, and attentive to every detail. The location is private but convenient: half a mile from Great Smoky Mountain National Park, with three waterfalls within walking distance. The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad station is two miles away, and Nantahala Gorge, with whitewater rafting, is a 20-minute drive. Speaking as a bed and breakfast owner myself, I'd say, “well done, we'll be back!”

Toni and Scott are lovely hosts, and the breakfasts are excellent, with eggs from their own chickens who live at the Deviled Egg Inn. The rooms are cosy, and the location makes a Smoky Mountain getaway easy. A fabulous inn in Bryson City. We'll return.
