The peaceful, welcoming feel makes the Hemlock Inn a wonderful spot to slow down and spend time with family and friends. The food is incredible, real home cooking served with love. Our family has been coming for years, and it’s become a cherished tradition for more reasons than I can count. If you’re after a memorable mountain getaway, I highly recommend it.

The staff at Hemlock Inn were attentive and welcoming. Mort and the whole team showed Christian hospitality in a way that felt like a breath of fresh air. We loved our stay and will return. Meals were served family style, with a dinner bell and a blessing before each one. The Southern food was good, and the rooms were quaint, with limited technology. Since we traveled with our one-year-old, I was glad I brought some of his favorite foods from home. Moms know little ones can be picky. They were happy to provide ice to keep things cold, and some rooms have a small refrigerator. A short drive gets you to downtown Bryson City and the Cherokee side of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The inn is tucked into the woods, with beautiful views. A few weeks ago, we stayed there for the first time, and it was lovely. It took us back to a simpler time, when we could be present with loved ones. We enjoyed the fireplace, reading in a rocking chair, playing board games, or napping to the sound of rain. It's a lovely choice for a weekend in the mountains of Western North Carolina with family and friends.

There’s plenty to explore around Bryson City, NC, the gateway to the Smoky Mountains: hikes, ice cream, scenic drives, shops, music, and Darnell Farms. The Hemlock Inn staff can point you toward your next outing. Back at the inn, it feels peaceful and wholesome, with homemade food and a sense of simpler times, when friends felt like family. It’s a wonderful place to rest and relax. Make it a family tradition, and you’ll have mountain memories to treasure. Life feels a little sweeter in Western North Carolina.

Save room for the excellent breakfast and dinner. We stayed at Hemlock Inn with my husband and another couple, and it made a lovely home base for our getaway. The deck’s rocking chairs were especially nice for enjoying the outdoors, and there’s plenty of hiking nearby, along with ice cream shops, scenic drives, shopping, and music. The inn is well placed in Bryson City, a gateway to the Smoky Mountains, and downtown and the Railway are easy to reach. We rode the Railway in both directions, and it’s a must do. We’re hoping to make this a fall tradition. Every season is lovely in the mountains of Western North Carolina, and we’re looking forward to seeing Bryson City at Christmas for the Polar Express, and again in magical springtime. Can't wait to return to the Hemlock and enjoy this beautiful place.

The owner is easy to talk with and seems to genuinely enjoy hosting people. The food was awesome, and the view from the front porch was beautiful, especially in the morning as the fog lifted off the mountains. My wife and I are planning another visit.
