Knights Inn Madison Heights MI

At 3 AM I woke up to a bed bug. I caught it in a bottle and handed it over, but they still refused to refund my money or offer me a different room. They said they'd have to call a company and claimed anyone could have brought the bug in. It wasn't me, and I don't want to take anything with me! In the morning shift, someone saw how upset I was and asked if I wanted a free room. I didn't want to risk another room that might be infested too.

I had to leave early because of a family emergency, so I called to ask for a refund on the nights I'd paid for but wouldn't use. They assured me on the phone that I'd get one. I packed up and arranged a ride based on that promise, but when I got to the office with the key, the staff refused and gave no explanation. I had to cancel my ride, losing more time and money. That reversal was infuriating and showed no regard for my situation or for their word. This was unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. I won't return, and I'll let others know to stay away.

The location is the only thing I liked. We went without heat during our first week. Then financial problems came up, and we told them we were waiting for someone to pick us and our things up. They made us put our stuff outside and wait in 30-degree weather. They also spray-painted the tub, so you couldn't bathe or even give the kids a bath.

There's no turndown service, and you have to handle everything yourself, including cleaning the room and changing the sheets. The Wi-Fi doesn't work, and the cable was out in my room. I don't know if it was the same in the others.
