The cottage was lovely, with a great kitchen and eating area, a living room, and two bedrooms, though we didn't use the kitchen. The inn has a great fire pit and a really nice dining area for the wonderful breakfasts. I was there for a social weekend with a service organization, and was surprised by how charming the place was and how thoughtful and welcoming the staff were. They have a range of accommodations. I can't wait to visit again.

Jamie showed us around and was especially helpful, and the innkeepers were welcoming throughout. We stayed in a roomy, charming second-floor room with a king bed and Jacuzzi tub. The bed is quite high, and the stairs are steep, though there’s a small step stool. They asked about mobility before we booked, which was useful to know. The grounds are beautifully kept, with landscaping that reminded me of a Japanese garden. Breakfast is offered in a bright sunroom, or you can sit outside; we skipped the food and had the coffee each morning. The room had a couch and table, a rocking chair, and a mini fridge with freezer plus a coffee maker. It’s above downtown Bryson City, so we walked to dinner and the gym. The walk back is a fairly steep climb, so some fitness helps. It’s also a handy spot for visiting Sylva and Dillsboro. I only review places I’d return to or recommend, and this is one. We’d gladly stay again.

The owners were so accommodating, and we found the place quiet, clean, and cozy. My husband and I stayed one night before our train ride. The beds were very comfortable, and the quaint rooms felt warm. We’d definitely stay again if we’re back this way, and I’d recommend checking it out for any event.

Chris made an amazing home-cooked breakfast, and Gene and Chris made us feel like family while they were filling in as innkeepers. Marianne handled our late check-in so kindly, walked us to the room, and showed us around the room and grounds. The landscaping was beautiful. We had our Golden Retriever with us, and the staff welcomed her; several restaurants nearby have pet-friendly patios too. We’ll be back to McKinley Edwards Inn.

The kids got to add special ornaments to the dining room tree for our Polar Express trip, which was a fun touch. This is a family-friendly inn with charm all around. Our room was lovely, and the stained glass door really stood out. There’s a cozy shared space in the main building, plus filtered water and an ice machine available anytime. Breakfast was delicious, and the dining room itself was beautiful.
