Check the receipt carefully and make sure the room charge matches what you were quoted. We were told the total would be $144 including tax, but I only realized from my bank statement that we’d been charged $244. I had signed the receipt without reading it closely, so there was nothing I could do, and I accept that I should have checked. My husband and I stayed in mid-October in a basic room with one queen bed and no fridge or microwave. For that room, $244 a night felt far too high, especially on the outskirts of Bryson City. This isn’t Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. The advertised price made it sound much cheaper, so be sure you’re charged the quoted amount.

The staff were friendly and ready to help, and the rooms were comfortable and nicely equipped. It’s well maintained, reasonably priced, and conveniently close to downtown and the Great Rocky Mountain Railroad.

The staff and housekeeping were friendly and helpful. I was there Wednesday and Thursday, and the rate was just $99 plus tax, so I didn’t mind that they don’t take discounts such as AARP. The bathroom could use fresh paint. Getting to the hotel and parking means going uphill. There aren’t signs showing you where to go, and halfway up there’s a sharp right hairpin turn into the hotel and parking area.

We got completely turned around with GPS trouble on the evening of 1/30/26 and pulled into the microtel. The young man at the desk, whose name I lost, took time to point us in the right direction and even printed a map. He went out of his way to help. With service like that, staying there seems like a safe bet.
