The building was pleasant enough, but parts felt outdated, and I think some bedding needs replacing. My bedding smelled of body odor, perhaps because it wasn’t sanitized properly in the wash. I prepaid through Expedia, which said the amount I paid covered all charges. The clerk removed the hidden cleaning and utility fees they charge direct bookers after I pointed that out. But the hotel still charges a $50 security deposit, or $100 for some people, and says it will be refunded at checkout. At checkout, they told me the refund would take 2-3 days. The morning I checked out, the clerk was missing for an hour. A lobby full of people waiting had to leave without checking out. Calling the management number only reached the brand’s customer service line, and they said they couldn’t do much because it’s a franchise and the owners are in charge. There’s no way to contact management or the owners. I’m not even sure the owner is in the country. There was no one at the desk after 10 pm. While I was in the lobby for 30 minutes during check-in and three hours waiting to check out, I saw five people whose key cards stopped working. One man with a dead key card had to sleep in his car, then leave to catch his flight without speaking to a clerk or employee. If your key stops working at night, you may not be able to get into your room. Don’t stay here unless ownership changes.
