Comfort Inn & Suites

After a night driving through the Appalachian foothills of Virginia, we would have been happy with any flat surface. Instead, we found the best Comfort Inn out of the six we’d come across on the eastern side of the US. The updated, luxurious rooms and friendly staff made a great impression, and there’s an indoor pool too. Even the free breakfast was delicious. We’re used to bagged scrambled eggs and plastic sausages, but this breakfast felt like something I should’ve paid for. If I’m within a 3 hour drive, I’d stay again. One of the highlights of our road trip.

The pool is about 6 feet deep, and doors between the gym, pool, and guest areas are secure. There’s also a guest bathroom on the first floor, which is handy if you need one without going back to your room. I’m here for business, and breakfast is available in the morning with sausage, eggs, juice, milk, three kinds of cereal, waffles, and water. With moderate prices and services, I’d give the Comfort Inn a 4, close to 5. I’ll write more reviews as I travel.

After our house caught fire, we had to find somewhere to stay that night, and we ended up here for three weeks. They understood why we needed a longer stay and offered us a deal to help with money while we looked for a new place. I loved walking in to find the front desk staff smiling, all four or five of them, and asking how I was doing. It was a great experience overall, and we’re grateful to them.

There wasn’t really breakfast beyond coffee and some fruit, and the elevator wasn’t working when I left in the morning, with no warning or sign posted. Still, the place was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was convenient and easy to reach. Nice enough for a stop while passing through, though I wouldn’t plan a vacation here.
