Travelodge by Wyndham Buena Park

I spent a week here in July, and it was genuinely the best motel I’ve ever stayed at. The owner was incredibly nice, let me check in early, and always gave me something whenever I asked. I was so amazed by the room that I wish I could post the video I took. Cafes and shops are nearby and easy to walk to. If I come back, I’ll definitely choose this motel again. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

We stopped in late at night. The first room, on the first floor, had really gross looking stains on the carpet and mold on the bathroom ceiling. The second room was upstairs and a little cleaner, with no carpet, but the walls and doors needed a good wipe-down. I won’t stay here again. I’ll pay the extra $50 and drive 10 more minutes to the Double Tree.

The location made it easy to get around and visit nearby sights. My room was comfortable, clean, and nicely updated, and the whole property was kept in good shape. Staff were courteous and quick to help. It worked well for families, couples, or someone traveling alone for work. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

The room was set up when we arrived, but there was hair in the bedding and bathtub, stained sheets and a towel, and ants in the room and bathroom, including one on the bed. I could also see ant trails on both the ground and upper floors. After the AC had been running for about an hour, the room had a gym-like smell that made it hard to breathe. I felt unclean and unsafe, and the housekeeping and AC maintenance seemed lacking. The man at checkout was nice, at least, but I won't return. I had booked through a third-party site for a lower rate and called directly a week later to confirm the reservation. The woman on the phone was somewhat rude and had a bit of an attitude. Check-in took a little while too, since she had to call someone to confirm something.
