Holiday Inn Express & Suites Buffalo Downtown - Medical CTR by IHG

This is my regular place to stay when I come to Buffalo for Sabres games, and I stayed here yesterday. The rooms are roomy, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast is nice with a large eating area. Staff are helpful and friendly. KEY BANK arena is about a 15-minute walk, and Sahlen Field, home of the Buffalo Bisons, the Blue Jays farm team, is about 10 minutes away. Parking is roughly a three-minute walk from the hotel.

The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, and there are several venues nearby along with an excellent food court next door. Breakfast is included but was just average. I also had trouble using my room key to access the elevator. Still, it was a good stay, and I've already booked another one here.

A week after our quick overnight for a downtown event, I realized I'd left my earrings in the room. I called the hotel and they still had them, so I just picked them up. These earrings mean a lot to me. Thank the stars for wonderful people, and I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff were kind and welcoming, the hotel was clean, and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in!

We left very disappointed. We told both staff and management about the problems, but all we got was that they'd “let management know.” Nothing was resolved, and there was no urgency. We've stayed with this hotel brand before without anything like this level of neglect, and I can't recommend this place. If you do stay, good luck. The room was filthy, had no heat, broken blinds, and missing TV remotes. The key fobs barely opened the doors, which stuck even when they did. Only one elevator was operating. Breakfast was awful too: containers were broken, their lids wouldn't open or shut properly, and the food was unappetizing.
