We stayed in the Sarah Dutro Suite, and it was stunning, as was the whole property. The suite felt private and was well appointed. Joseph, “the innkeeper,” showed us around and gave us the full history of the home, making our stay fantastic. My wife and I were in Buffalo for a couple of nights to celebrate our anniversary. The location is right in the heart of Elmwood Village, with lots of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance. If you want a distinctive stay in a beautiful historic city, this is a must.

The shared rooms downstairs made it easy to relax outside the room, read, or play the baby grand piano. Breakfast was simple and fresh, with yogurt, cut fruit, homemade scones, coffee, and tea. Cold drinks and snacks were available during the day too. I stayed in the Hewitt Room. It was spacious, with a small refrigerator, sofa, and fireplace. The king bed was very comfortable, with soft pillows and high-quality linens. I appreciated the sound machine and its different settings. The en-suite bathroom stood out, with an antique-style shower, freestanding Victorian tub, and plush cotton robes that felt spa-like. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome. Molly, the manager, showed me around the first floor and up to my room, and was happy to answer questions. The owner was genuinely hospitable too, and I felt well cared for. InnBuffalo is a beautifully restored Victorian mansion that combines historic charm with modern comfort. It was a very special, comfortable stay.

What a great stay. My partner and I travel a lot, and chose InnBuffalo for our anniversary and Valentine’s Day because we wanted something different from a regular hotel. We loved it so much that we decided to make visiting Buffalo and staying here a yearly tradition, and we want to see the other rooms too. The staff were wonderful and easy to communicate with. When I mentioned loving the lemon and blueberry scones, someone offered the recipe and gave me a printed copy. Housekeeping was communicative and flexible with our schedule. It was also special to learn that our money goes toward restoring and caring for the house. The hotel’s location was easy to find and just a short walk from Elmwood street, a cute, chic neighborhood. We spent the day visiting its local independent businesses, which made the trip feel more special. The house is gorgeous and clearly well cared for. Our room was much bigger and more beautiful than we expected. The staff had left fresh roses, champagne, and a sweet anniversary note, a really thoughtful touch. The room also had plush terry cloth robes, slippers, a mini fridge, a carafe of water, a large TV with several channels and streaming services, and its own heating and cooling unit. The Victorian room and hotel were pristine, while the bathroom was modern and practical, with a big shower with two heads, a large sink, and plenty of space. There were fresh lemon and blueberry scones, plus other drinks and snacks to help ourselves to. Downstairs, the basement had a cozy room with a pool table, chess set, and full bar. Breakfast included hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and fresh fruit in little mason jars, bagels and toast, and an Nespresso machine. Our favorite part was the sweet, well-behaved, adorably plump black lab, who loved belly rubs and kept us company while we ate. I’m still surprised how affordable the stay was, even cheaper than nearby hotels, with all those lovely amenities. We can’t thank everyone enough and can’t wait to come back.

I’ve never stayed anywhere better, which is saying a lot since I travel for work so often. I was there for two of my best friends’ wedding, and they made it a memorable weekend for everyone. The owner and staff were kind, polite, genuine, and knowledgeable. Everything was clean and ready, and the place accommodated our big group, around 20 guests, very well. The food was great, with healthy choices and a few nice treats. The music sounded perfect for the wedding, including the live musicians. Music, a bartender, food, and general staff were all available as wedding services. Every room had its own character and design, and the art and actively restored building felt like stepping through time with care. There was plenty of room to mingle in the common areas. It’s close to local food, entertainment, and markets, and we had no trouble with nearby street parking. The shuttle was handy for people arriving by plane. I’ll recommend the place to everyone I know and will definitely visit again.

Getting to our third-floor room was a treat in itself, passing stained glass windows, interesting art, lovely architectural details, and creaky floorboards. The location is just right in a lovely, walkable neighborhood with restaurants and shops close by. This is a one-of-a-kind inn, beautiful and comfortable. Every room is different and lovely, and each has a perfect bathroom. The sunny breakfast room had light, healthy options, and the homemade granola was wonderful. Absolutely perfect!
